Have you ever had an experience that radically transformed the way you listen? And have you also found that deep listening changes what’s possible? Based on a few stories of conversion and transformation through the act of listening, Damien proposes that we reflect together on what ecological listening would be: how to characterize it, and how to describe the ethical and political commitment that this kind of attentive presence to oneself, to others and to the world implies.

The discussion will be preceded by a listening practice open to children. Following the talk, participants will be invited to share eco-biographical stories about the metamorphosis of listening.

Damien Delorme holds a doctorate in philosophy and theology. He is first assistant in environmental ethics at the University of Lausanne (IGD) and a lecturer at the University of Geneva and the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3. His work focuses on the inclusion of minority voices in environmental philosophy, and on the links between ecospirituality, first-person ecology and political ecology.
